A bespoke beachcomb is an opportunity to enjoy a unique experience. No two beachcombs are ever the same. Who knows what treasures the last tide will have cast upon our shores? Beachcombing the strandline is a unique chance to appreciate the amazing animals that live in our seas. With my experience & knowledge of Suffolk beaches & your wish list of the treasures you’d like to find, I can personalise a perfect beachcomb for you. I will take into account the tides, the ages of any children in your group, as well as anyone who might have limited mobility. For the best beachcombing I recommend Felixstowe, Bawdsey or Sizewell beach and you can read more about them and their treasures here. Felixstowe is a great beach if anyone in your group has limited mobility and it is possible to spend the majority of your beachcomb sitting down. For small family groups I charge £30 per person for a minimum of three people. I can take two people beachcombing though the charge is still £90 to cover my costs. If there are six people in your group the sixth person is free, you only pay for five people!

For clubs, WIs etc - please contact me to discuss your group’s needs. I limit groups to a maximum of 15 people which ensures that everyone has the best experience. For a two hour beachcomb at Sizewell, Bawdsey (and Felixstowe if 8-15 people) I charge £150. This works out at £10 a head if you have 15 people. For the 90 minute shorter beachcomb at Felixstowe (if c.8 people) I charge £112-50. Please note, the price for the walk is fixed, not per head, to cover my costs.

> a 50 million year old fossil shark tooth!
> lucky stones with holes all the way through them - possibly the remains of a fossil sea sponge.
> limpets whose teeth are the strongest natural substance in the world (yes, stronger than diamonds!)
> crab shells - but did you know there’s a good chance the crab is still alive?
> sea wash balls - the first few hatchlings of these sea snail eggcases will cannibalise their siblings!

Everything you need to know:

1. A 50% deposit payable by bank transfer secures your beachcomb.

2. The deposit is non-refundable unless the beachcomb is cancelled because of a change in covid restrictions or dangerous weather. Please be aware that bad weather isn’t dangerous weather!

3. The remaining 50% is due at the start of the beachcomb, payable in cash or by bank transfer the night before.

4. Please arrive in good time for your beachcomb as your time slot is fixed.
